The difference between "sin" and "immorality"

A sin is not an immoral action. A sin is simply defiance of a stated set of rules.

For example, if it was said that one must polish their shoes before wearing socks, then not doing so is simply a sin.

It has nothing to do with morality. A sin a sin simlly because it is defined as such.
